Cabin crew has to always dress to the T. They have to look glamorous because they are the face value of the airline company. We all have been in air in different carriers and awed by how beautiful and sophisticated the cabin crew looks and represents themselves.
One airline in China has taken the uniform game to a whole new level. Hainan Airlines collaborated with fashion designer Laurence Xu. The attire was introduced at the Paris Fashion Week. The uniform is inspired by a traditional Chinese dress, Cheongsam. The attire is a blend between modern western-style and the traditional Chinese dress.
Brand director of Hainan Airlines, Xu Fei said, “The cooperation between Hainan Airlines and Lawrence Xu is industry leading. We are not only creating a new uniform but also showing the internationalized image of our airline. Especially on international routes, we would like to let passengers know that China is modern and trendy.”
The uniform features Chinese art elements such as clouds, waves, and Chinese mythical bird, Roc. Men costumes are less extravagant and more western looking with double-breast outerwear.
