Designers Shantanu and Nikhil Had A Twist For Their Kashmiriyat Show

We have often seen designers portray current affairs in their fashion line. And since we all consider fashion as shallow and evil, there has been a lot of controversies with designers choosing this way to express their opinion about such controversial situations.

So when world known designers Shantanu and Nikhil decided to have their models portray as if they were pelted with pellet bullets, they gathered a lot of flak.

And it was GQ who tweeted about the entire fiasco.

Later, in their defence the fashion duo admitted that they were inspired by the tribesmen of Jammu and Kashmir who made such imprints on their face.

GQ deleted the tweet later but received a lot of criticism from commoners, politicians and even the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah for their insensitive tweet.

Here’s how everyone reacted!

This wasn’t something that was expected from GQ as well as Shantanu and Nikhil. For long Kashmiris have been tortured and have survived a lot of cruelty from the past till now. And this is not such lame issue which can be trivialised by fashion designers as they live in luxury while people everyday are being shot pellet bullets at them.
